Miami Seaquarium By Nathan

Look at his talent !!! His name is Aries, and his trainer’s name is Ryan.  Ryan just asked us to put our hands in the air and make a cross with them and then uncross them.  Once we did that, Aries flipped four times. I think that this photo was taken on his second flip.  We got to touch him.  He felt like a hard velvety comforter. Later we got to touch his tummy.

He’s huge!  We had to wait a few seconds after he went underwater for him to come up and breach.  There was also two white-sided-dolphins.  When the whale breached, the spray drenched the audience in the first five rows.  The water even got halfway out of the stadium!!

My favourite part of the Miami Seaquarium was when I got to pet and feed the Stingrays. The reason I don’t have a photo of the Stingrays because the camera doesn’t take good underwater pictures.

    1. Cool! You can do a back flip now? The stingray feeding felt like a mini vacuum cleaner sucking my hand. On the second week on the boat I caught a fish (see next blog post). I’m having a great time on the boat. Hope to see you soon!!

  2. Hi Nathan, loved hearing about the aquarium and all the different types marine animals. I’ve never got to be that close to such cool animals or see a stingray. I thought your camera could take under water pictures and videos. Anyway that’s so cool. Your boat looks so nice do you know if your boat can filter salt water so you can drink it? Thanks for the update. The bike is working well for me. Have fun and I hope to hear from you soon.

    1. It wasn’t as cool as it sounded when you are actually getting to see them. We have a water maker on board so it does filter water so we can drink it. My camera can take underwater pictures but the water was very murky and you can’t see the stingrays.

  3. Hi Nathan, the aquarium looked really fun I love seeing whales blow. Often when I do people get wet. I’ve only seen belugas blow though. Seeing a killer whale is pretty cool. Do you think you could answer some technical questions about your boat? Your dad might have to answer the question though.I’m not great at typing so I’ll get right to the point. Can your boat filter water so you can drink it or do you have get more when you get to a port? Thanks for the update the bike is working well for me. Have fun and hope to hear from you soon.

  4. Hi Nathan, I’m glad you are having fun in Miami! I really like your description of Aries. Also I think you are quite brave to pet a stingray. When I see them while I’m snorkeling I get scared. And Caitie does a little scream under water. 🙂 We are all looking forward to your posts.

Sounds like the Miami aquarium was a lot of fun. Glad you got a chance to feed the stingrays. How did you avoid getting stung?

    1. It turns out that it didn’t rain nearly as much as it did when we sent the postcard. We love being on the boat. Earlier we went on the hash (blog post coming). I caught a fish off the stern of the boat today (see lastest blog post for more about fishing). Really wish you were here!!
